The Hoarder House: Winter is Coming, Winter is Here

It's been said that the extreme North is a land of two seasons: Winter is Coming, and Winter is Here.

In the case of The Hoarder House, it's totally true. And winter is here.

This past weekend when I went to work on the house, it was snowing, windy and wintry cold. Since I haven't yet removed the wood stove or metal protective flooring from the kitchen, I dug out the stove pipes and figured out how to put the chimney back together. I only suffered a bloody lip in the process! (True story.)

Another accomplishment was FINALLY removing the last of the free-standing structures from the backyard. This old camper top built onto a heavy wooden frame was much, much harder and heavier than I'd anticipated. I thought I could tear it apart in an afternoon; it took pacing it over several days.

Now it's starting to look like a normal backyard!

Only the platform remains of the old camper/storage shed.

There's still more clutter in the garage, but slowly, slowly the possibilities are taking shape.

Stay warm out there this winter!
